An electrical circuit breaker is a switching device capable of carrying and breaking current under normal or abnormal circuit conditions. Its main function is to protect the circuit from damage caused by overloads, short circuits and other abnormal conditions to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system. When overload, short circuit and other faults occur in the circuit, the electrical circuit breaker can quickly cut off the current, prevent the fault from expanding, and protect the equipment and personal safety.

The working principle of electrical circuit breakers is based on the principles of electromagnetic induction and mechanical transmission. When the current in the circuit exceeds the rated value, the thermal element inside the circuit breaker will heat up and produce deformation of the bimetal, or the electromagnet will produce enough suction to make the disconnecting mechanism act, thus cutting off the circuit. In addition, the circuit breaker also has an arc extinguishing device, which can effectively extinguish the arc generated when breaking the current and prevent the arc from harming equipment and personnel.
Electrical circuit breaker generally consists of contact system, arc extinguishing system, operating mechanism, striker, shell and so on. Contact system is used to connect and disconnect the circuit breaker; arc extinguishing system is used to extinguish the arc generated when breaking the current; operating mechanism is used to realize the manual or automatic operation of the circuit breaker; the tripper is the part that triggers the action of the circuit breaker according to the fault situation in the circuit; the shell is used to protect the internal structure of the circuit breaker and prevent external interference.
